Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser so it can recognise you on the next page or the next visit. Omigo Chat uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and store information while you use the platform. Here is what they do.

Essential cookies

The platform does not work properly without these. They handle authentication, security and session management, which is how you stay logged in as you move from the start page to a call to your messages.

Performance cookies

These help us understand how visitors use the platform: which pages are opened and where people get stuck. On Omigo Chat this measuring is done by the analytics service below, so it follows the same rule: it only runs after you choose Accept all in the cookie bar.

Functional cookies

They remember preferences such as your language and display settings, so you don't have to set them again every visit.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how the platform is used in aggregate, for example how many people arrive and which pages they open. Google shares aggregated reports with us, not a list of who you are. Google publishes its own explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services, and offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics.

The Privacy Policy explains how usage data fits into everything else we collect.

Local storage and similar technologies

Besides cookies, your browser can keep small pieces of data in local storage. Omigo Chat uses it for the same jobs as the cookies above: keeping a session going and remembering settings. Clearing your site data in the browser removes it.

Your choice in the cookie bar

The first time you visit, a bar at the bottom of the screen asks whether analytics is allowed. It has two buttons of the same size: Essential only keeps the essential and functional storage that the chat needs, and Accept all adds the performance and analytics measuring described above. Until you answer, analytics storage stays off, and your answer is remembered in your browser so the bar does not come back on every visit.

Changed your mind?

Neither answer changes the essential cookies above. Those keep the chat working and cannot be switched off.

Turning them off

You control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies or delete the ones already saved, and their help pages explain how.

Blocking essential cookies will break parts of Omigo Chat. Logging in and starting a chat both depend on them.

We may update this page when our use of cookies changes. Questions: [email protected].
