Community Guidelines

Random chat only works when strangers can trust each other for a few minutes. These rules exist for that. They apply on calls, in messages, on profiles, in Moments and in clubs.

The short version

  1. Respect people. Opinions included. Don't offend, discriminate against or attack any person or group.
  2. Respect privacy. Never share someone's personal information without their consent.
  3. Keep it clean. Explicit, violent, terror-related or bloody material is strictly banned.
  4. Follow the law where you are, especially laws that protect minors.
  5. No false information. That means fake ads, fraud and misleading promotions.
  6. Report what you see. If something breaks these rules, report it so we can act.
  7. Protect minors. Anything that harms the rights or safety of a minor is dealt with seriously.

On a call

You see a face, they see yours. A few habits make that go well for both of you.

  • Be the person you are. Pretending to be someone else, or misleading people about who you are, is against our Terms.
  • Do not screenshot, screen-capture or share the other person without their clear consent. Their face is their personal information.
  • Asking for money, pushing someone to pay outside the platform, or dropping links to other apps is not allowed.
  • Not enjoying it? End the call and move on. If it was worse than awkward, open their profile and use Report or Block.

Banned in pictures and videos

These rules cover your avatar, your album, Moments and club avatars. Each item says where it applies.

Banned in names and text

Nicknames and club names must not include any of the following.

  • Pornography or sexual innuendo: Nickname, club name
  • Sensitive body parts: Nickname
  • Vulgar emojis: Nickname, club name
  • Advertising: Nickname, club name
  • Minors: Nickname, club name
  • Blood or gore: Nickname, club name
  • Rumours: Nickname, club name
  • Discrimination or racism: Nickname, club name
  • Insulting others: Nickname, club name
  • Contact details: Nickname, club name
  • Information about other apps: Nickname, club name
  • Work or business content: Club name

Club introductions, and the reason you give when you create or join a club, may not contain any of the content banned on this page.

Face verification videos

If you verify your face, the video has to meet two conditions or it will not be approved:

  • It is filmed by you, of you, in good light, with nothing covering your face.
  • Your avatar, your video show, your photos and the verification video all show the same person.

Reporting something

Report and Block live on the other person's profile page, and on posts and live panels. Report when you meet abuse, a scam, harassment, impersonation, a possible minor, or any other banned behaviour: pick a reason and submit it, and it gets reviewed. Block puts the person on your block list so they can't keep contacting you. You can undo it later.

You can also write to [email protected]. Reports go through our moderation and risk-control process; depending on severity the outcome can be a warning, removed content, restricted features, a suspended account or stronger action.

What happens when the rules are broken

We take violations seriously. Depending on how serious and how frequent they are:

  • a warning, for first-time or minor violations;
  • temporary suspension of account privileges, for repeated or moderate violations;
  • permanent suspension, for severe or repeated serious violations.

We decide which action fits based on the nature of the violation.
